The article is devoted to the method of writing a miniature essay «If I were a wizard (sorceress)...» in the second grade of a secondary school. Working on this type of compositions contributes to the development of imagination, speech, thinking of primary school students. The article presents examples of students' essays.

A developing technology in an environment of artistic and creative dialogue is a result of the long-term joint design, educational and exhibition experience. The purpose of this article is to present and justify the authors’ methodological materials on writing a fairy tale based on an artist's painting for fairy tale therapy and for using it in order to develop an individual's creative potential. As a result of the study, the authors have given a definition of “the author’s fairy tale based on the artist’s painting”; summarized theoretical information about the phenomenon of fairy tales; developed an algorithm for writing a fairy tale based on the artist’s painting, justified its psychological structure; made a list of technologies for searching for a plot and selecting fairy tale characters based on painting. It was found that the environment of the exhibition encouraged viewers of the exhibition to become the authors of their own fairy tales based on the painting.

Improving coherent monologue speech is of key importance in the overall development of speech in preschoolers. The problem that we consider in our study is the examination of the specific aspects of coherent monologue speech development in preschool children with general speech underdevelopment and planning of a correctional and developmental process using fairy tales, taking into account their specific speech development. The purpose of the article is to justify the practicability and effectiveness of using fairy tales in speech therapy work for the development of monologue speech in preschool children with general speech underdevelopment. Diagnostic results using V.P. Glukhov’s method indicate that children in this category have a low level of coherent monologue speech development, which emphasizes the relevance and significance of the study. The article reveals the essence of speech therapy work aimed at improving monologue speech in preschool children with general speech underdevelopment through the use of fairy tales.
This article reveals the potential of the literary artistic genre – fairy tales in teaching a foreign language in primary school. All the positive features of reading fairy-tale texts and their direct correlation with the psychological characteristics of primary school children have been identified. The technique of dramati-zation was used as the basis for teaching speaking (dialogical speech). This method of game modeling is based on the adapted text of a fairy tale. The textbook for primary school of the series ‘English in Focus’, containing fairy tale material that meets the criteria selected by G. Ellis and J. Brewster, was taken as an example to teach junior students reading.
