The article presents the results of non-speech and speech breathing examination of older preschool children with mental retardation. It is established that children cannot distribute exhaled air economically and evenly. When air is used, children break words, interrupt phrases inappropriately. Preschool children do not have a normal type of physiological respiration. The article gives methodological recommendations for the development of children's breathing in the process of speech therapy classes.

The article is devoted to the study of ideas about the professions in adolescents with mental retardation. Two groups of high school students were surveyed: orphans and teenagers living in families. Researchers established differences in the perception of professions for each group of subjects. It is noted that all adolescents feel the need for psychological and pedagogical support for adequate selection of an acceptable sphere of activity and subsequent inclusion in the workforce.

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of motivational readiness to school among senior preschoolers with mental retardation. The author makes an analysis of the sources concerning the problem, diagnostics of motivational readiness for school education, and reveals the prevailing motives. The features of the motivation to school among preschool children with mental retardation are analyzed.
. Children with mental retardation have significant deviations in the development of mental processes, motility and emotional-volitional sphere. This makes it difficult for them to master the mathematical knowledge necessary for the formation of a full-fledged social experience. Formation and development of mathematical concepts in preschoolers with intellectual disabilities is impossible without targeted correctional and developmental work. The article is devoted to the study of mathematical representations of preschoolers with mild mental retardation. Concrete examples are given related to the mastery of mathematical material by mentally retarded children of five to seven years old. Attention is focused on the peculiarities of the formation in children of ideas about quantity, space, time, size, form.

The article presents the technology of remedial work with older preschoolers suffering from mental retardation. The work is aimed at building up motivational readiness for schooling. Two directions of corrective action are described. Thanks to conducting classes with this technology use, preschoolers with mental retardation have changed their attitude to schooling for the better, and increased the level of learning motivation.
