The article is devoted to the consideration of the functions of the artistic space created by the author in a literary text. It analyzes such functions as the space of action, living space, the space of the hero’s inner world, the space of heroes’ feelings and moods; it also describes spatial motifs that are important for the philological analysis of the text.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the symbols of the apple tree and the apple in the book of the modern writer Guzel Yakhina and how the author masterfully uses the techniques of simile, personification, and description in her work. The article also explores the connection between a man and the nature, considers the apple tree associations in Russian folklore. Besides, olfactory images and how the smell of apples affects the feelings and senses of the protagonist of the work are understood. It is emphasized that the apple orchard and its fruits in Guzel Yakhina's work "My Children" can rightly be called an important symbol that characterizes human being, inextricably linked with nature, internal harmony in the soul of heroes, a symbol bearing healing power.

The article analyzes the words and phrases that organize the space-time continuum of the advertising situation. The ratio of spatial and temporal words and phrases forms the chronotope of advertising, quantitative excess of units designating time intervals, tells of the temporary nature of the advertising text as a whole.

The article proceeds from the fact that it is necessary to take into account the time component of communication as a process, paying particular attention to the nature of its synchronization. It is shown how synchronization works at different levels of communication – from interpersonal interactions to international contacts. It is noted that synchronization covers verbal and non-verbal symbolic means, and can also be considered at two levels – at the lowest level of natural development and at the highest level of cognitive functions. It is postulated that synchronization is the essence of communication, as a whole. Synchronization is discussed in two ways – as coordination and as simultaneous of actions. These views on synchronization are interrelated.
