The article focuses on the relevance of the formation of lexical and grammatical skills in the process of foreign language education at the middle stage through information and educational technology, namely video resources. The concepts of lexical skills, grammatical skills and video resources are discussed in detail, the stages of preparation for this type of work are described. The positive aspects of the technology are analyzed, the conditions for its implementation are specified. The authors’ personal experience is summarized, a fragment of the lesson is given, the practical results obtained are evaluated, and practical recommendations are presented.

This article examines the history of the development of the English language, where the term “ghost-words” is found, introduced by the British philologist and Professor W. W. Skeet in the second half of the XIX century. This term was introduced to define words that never existed in the language, but got into linguistic dictionaries for various reasons. This study will discuss how “ghost-words” appeared, how they influenced the language, what has become of them in our time and what function they perform.
The article focuses on the possibilities of using case study when teaching students of marketing professional communication in English based on the textbook Market Leader. The author analyzes the results of the experiment showing the achievements of the two groups who took part in it. The results of the experiment show that only the system of additional tasks as well as language, logical and communicative props can ensure more productive classroom activity and guarantee that the language and communicative skills have been developed. One more advantage of such an approach is a better insight into a certain communicative situation within the framework of professional communication.
