The article examines the effectiveness of using a mobile application in learning English. Modern educational language applications are analyzed, their features and advantages are revealed, and the target audience is determined. To determine the effectiveness of using mobile applications in learning English, a survey was conducted among students of schools in Yakutia from 5th to 11th grade. This survey was created on the Google Forms platform and is aimed at identifying the frequency of use of language-based mobile applications, the advantages and disadvantages of such applications. The relevance of a new mobile application with gamification elements for learning English, which is being developed as part of the program project “Sirius.Summer: Start your project. Season 2023/2024”. The practical significance of the work lies in the fact that the survey results will help in creating a language mobile application. The application will be based on a tale about a polar bear of his own composition, thereby focusing on the disappearance of rare animals and on the problems of global warming and its impact on the Arctic.

This article examines the contribution of the system of specially protected natural areas to achieving sustainable development goals. As an example, the system of specially protected natural areas of the Nizhnekolymsky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is considered as an Arctic territory that includes vast land and sea areas. The study region is characterized by the presence of vulnerable ecosystems, as well as unique biological diversity, rare species of flora and fauna, and local population engaged in a traditional way of life. The study takes into account the presence of current and potential environmental threats in the region, their brief description is provided. The prospects for tourism development in the protected areas of the studied region and the potential consequences of such activities in protected areas are briefly considered. Visual cartographic material has been developed to visualize the system of specially protected natural areas of the studied region.

At the present stage, the introduction of digital technologies is a priority in the development of the Russian Arctic territories. The study analyzes the current state of digital transformation of Russia's Arctic regions, examines the opportunities provided by digital transformation, as well as the existing obstacles and emerging challenges. Overcoming the problems is possible through public-private partnership, through coordinated actions of all stakeholders.

The article discusses GIS technologies and methods such as classification of satellite images, modeling of ice processes, image processing and 3D visualization used to monitor changes in the ice cover. And also to study the effects of climate change.
