Pain and tolerance as an expression of the biopsychosocial nature of man

Abstract. The paper analyzes the phenomenon of pain and tolerance, expressing the manifestation of the complex biopsychosocial nature of man. Pain is seen at the system level, thus the various aspects of its manifestation are identified, causes and means of relief is determined by the attitude of people. Particular attention is given to identifying the ability to endure, ignore and move pain and sufferings. Author's arguments are supplemented with data of the empirical sociological research.
