Professional orientation to pupils for admission to the engineering and technical field of study of professional education

Abstract. The paper deals with the relevance of engineering professions in the modern Russian economy; discusses the importance of early vocational counseling of pupils for future professional education in engineering and technical field; analyzes the individual forms, methods and means of career guidance for future engineers; gives the examples of career guidance of pupils, conducted with students at the Institute of Innovative Technologies and Business of the Moscow State University of Technology and Management named after K.G. Razumovsky.
