Authentic teaching aids as the main factor of achieving effective results in professional competence of language learners

Abstract. The article aims at providing language learners with the appropriate level of communicative and professional competence through efficient strategies of using authentic teaching aids. The methods of forming discoursive competence, professional and communicative language acquisition are considered in two types of discourse: agricultural and military ones. Both agricultural subject matter and professional issues of the military are treated from the professional point of view in order to enable students to effectively communicate with their foreign counterparts in English.
