Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of perpetual generation gap on the examples of the following works «The Mother» and «The Philistines» by Maxim Gorky, «In a Thunderstorm», «Valya», «Doomed to Die» by Sergei Sergeyev-Tsensky. The author of the article focuses on tragic consequences of the religious disconnection of different generations.
