Abstract. In this article social problems in the concept of novelistic creativity by T.L. Peacock are considered. The role of the philosophical concept «the natural person» and an image «wood» in the «roman a’clef» «Nightmare Abbey», «Gryll Grange», «Headlong Hall» are defined.
