Electronic and digital evidence

Abstract. The complex nature of the information used by analog and digital signals as evidence in criminal cases has led to the fact that they became known as a generic term - ELECTRONIC. Due to the increasing number of specialized types of electronic and electrical devices that can play only certain types of analog or digital signals (players, tablets, tape recorders, television), there is confusion in the legal description of the evidence and the need to specify their names without affecting the electronic and electrical appliances, which are used for viewing and playback. Since the devices are intermediaries between the signal and the person, such as a magnifying glass and an electron microscope, the name of the principle of the device must not be present in the description of the signal. Analog and digital information signals are different in their nature and use, which should be reflected in the oral and written legal terminology and how to use this evidence.
