Abstract. The author of the article by extensive research proves membership of a vase with a picturesque portrait of an unknown lady of the Imperial porcelain factory from the collection of the art gallery «Smolensk state Museum-reserve» to China era of Nicholas I. The feature of this publication that the material is a result of extensive research conducted by the author on the study of the special literature and view exhibits the largest museums and private galleries. In the result of the research the author comes to the conclusion that the vase from the collection of the art gallery «Smolensk state Museum-reserve» has been created in the IPF during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I. The text of the article is richly illustrated with photos of porcelain
vases of the 19th century. The publication will be of interest to a wide circle of readers, professional art and Antiques.
