Abstract. The paper presents the methodological foundations of teaching the mechanics of fluids at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseyev, based on physical and mathematical modeling of stationary process flow in pipelines, simplest hydraulic resistance and free flows. Students perform laboratory work on physical modeling on universal hydraulic stand and mathematical modeling practical work on personal computers.
