Abstract. The paper deals with the characteristics of the competence oriented tasks, which are used in the secondary vocational education for the development and evaluation of the level of development of general and professional competencies identified by the Federal State Educational Standard. The specific features of the structural elements of the tasks are revealed, and the examining tools are described. Special attention is drawn to the difference between tasks for vocational education and school.
