Comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko: from theory to experiment

Abstract. This work is devoted to a detailed study of the short-period comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The calculation of the basic physical properties of the comet's nucleus: the effective radius, mass density, porosity and mass. Studied the comet's orbit, taking into account the area of sublimation. On the basis of physical and orbital characteristics determined mass loss and lifetime of the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. A comparative analysis of the results with those obtained in the «Rosetta» European space mission.
