The use of accumulated experience in the field of business communication allows us to consider communication processes from a different angle, to obtain new data on the factors and conditions for the effectiveness of persuasive communication in interpersonal oral business communication and written business communication. The study of speech strategies and tactics for mitigating persuasion and refusal in intercultural business and legal negotiations (based on the material of English/Russian-English and other buildings) allows not only to increase the communicative effectiveness of persuasive influence, but also to develop mechanisms for resisting unwanted influence, the objects of which may be people entering into business relations, which actualizes the problems of our research in the article. The purpose of the study is to analyze speech strategies and tactics for mitigating persuasion and refusal in intercultural business and legal negotiations (based on material from English/Russian-English and other buildings). As a result, it was determined that linguistic and cultural differences in the use of modal constructions, questions, adverbs of uncertainty and tactics of defusing the atmosphere in the course of intercultural business and legal negotiations affect the success of communication between partners. It was concluded that intercultural communication strategies and tactics play a leading role in minimizing conflicts and improving the effectiveness of negotiations.
