The article presents recommendations on organization of the work with the artistic films at the German language lessons for the pupils of senior classes and freshmen and sophomores of institutions of higher education. We give task examples, useful for such type of work.

The article presents recommendations for using authentic songs in the classroom English for students of non-linguistic specialties. Also provides tasks which may be useful in this work.

The issues raised in this article are interesting from the point of view of teaching methods of the theme “Interlanguage homonyms” during multilingual learning. The author defines the term “lexical borrowing”, studies the process of lexical borrowing from English to modern Russian on the examples of words from the authentic textbooks, reveals the reasons of borrowing. Special attention is paid to the right selection of exercises for overcoming the mistakes of language interference.

In the article the author analyses the role and potential of sight translation as a means of teaching consecutive interpreting to military interpreters. Examples of exercise types for developing sight translation skills are given (both for classroom-based and out-of-class work). Besides, an efficient methodological approach to teaching interpreting at non-specialized educational institutions is presented.
