It is proposed to use a new parameter for assessing the electrical properties of frozen soils – electromagnetic resistance. The use of this parameter makes it possible to take into account, in addition to conduction currents in soils determined by electrical resistance, also displacement currents determined by their dielectric permittivity. This contributes to a more efficient allocation of thawed watered areas in frozen soils for grounding, preserving conductive properties and when freezing soils in winter. Examples of practical application of electromagnetic resistance and evaluation of its effectiveness are given.
The article discusses laboratory tests of heating electrodes in order to determine the interaction of the structural elements of the grounding system and the grounding system as a whole for quantitative and qualitative indicators to improve the efficiency of electric power systems in a cold climate.
This article provides an analysis of the conditions in the Arctic part of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and a brief description of industrial development projects. One of the main challenges in challenging climatic conditions for the industrial sector is ensuring efficient and reliable electricity and heat supply. Reliable operation of the power supply system is impossible without a working system of protection of its elements, which includes grounding. The article provides an analysis of possible methods of grounding in the conditions of permafrost.
