With a lively debate about whether distance learning can be more efficient than traditional on-campus learning still developing, a new form of learning has emerged, which is known as blended (or hybrid) learning. This new form is meant to blend the advantages of both distance and on-campus learning, and it might be able to end the debate, if proven to be trustworthy and more efficient. This article focuses on the definition of blended learning, its characteristics, and a set of its advantages and disadvantages.
