The article considers the nature of the economic crisis in Russia 2014-2016 Analyzed the causes and charac-teristics of the crisis of the great depression in the United States 1929-1933. an attempt was Made to justify the choice of research methodology the nature of the crisis in different economic systems. Describes spe-cific proposals to overcome the economic crisis in modern Russian conditions.
