In article multifunctionality of motive of nakedness in ZakharPrilepin's novel "Monastery" is considered. It is proved that functioning of this motive in the work has the important art purpose: to show falling of spirituality of the Russian person. Some functions which are born in itself by motive of nakedness in the novel come to light: an otnesennost to a certain social group, means of the characteristic of heroes, an author's position, the indicator of spiritual integrity of heroes, etc. that allows to define the main ideological contents of the novel.
