The paper presents theoretical foundations of speech activity. The author considers the main types of speech activities (reading, writing, speaking, listening) and the definitions of the basic concepts of “speech activity”, “professional speech activity of future teachers of preschool educational institutions”.

The paper deals with the author's interpretation of key concepts “express-iveness of speech” and “educational technology for development of speech expressiveness of future teachers of preschool educational institutions”. The author suggests the structure of the dictionary-minimum of professionally-oriented language, in particular principles of corepresentation, substantial component and selection criteria for vocabulary.
