The paper is devoted to the criminological characteristics of mercenary motives of violent crimes against minors in the family, which are associated with material disadvantage of certain groups of people, due to the aggravation of the socio-economic situation in the country, as the effects of the global financial and economic crisis.

The paper is devoted to criminological characteristics of the personality of a criminal, who made a domestic violence against a minor. The author examines the personality basing on the analysis of the results of per-sonal research, which allows to select appropriate portraits of male and female family criminals, who are making frequent domestic violence against minors.
