The paper examines the pedagogical discourse as a linguistic basis for the formation of communicative-strategic competence of future primary school teachers. The diversity of scientific interpretations of the discourse is noted. The author explains the distinction between discourse and text, as well as the understanding of discourse and text as a dialogic activity phenomena of nature.
