The article deals with the issues of toxicity, the relationship of the structure and composition of organic substances with their physiological effect. The analysis of the data of a sociological survey is given, showing the degree of awareness of students about the danger of the influence of household chemicals on the human body. The article is written on the basis of the conducted experiments, the mechanism of action of poisons and the essence of the antidote effect are revealed.
