The purpose of the paper is theoretical consideration and analysis of the main provisions of formation and development of reading skills through the score sheet in the period of study at the children music school. In this regard, the notion of reading discusses the historical background and basic rules of reading through the score sheet; the author identifies the characteristics of formation and development of reading skills through the score sheet at piano lessons.
