the article is devoted to the importance of fostering interest in folk art among children aged 7-8 in the folk painting studio. The aim of the study was to identify the pedagogical conditions conducive to fostering interest in folk art among children aged 7-8 in the folk painting studio. The article examines the concept of "interest in folk art", characterizes the components of interest in folk art, lists the stages of fostering interest in folk art, reveals the specifics of classes in the studio of folk painting and their possibilities as a means of fostering interest in folk art among children of primary school age. The article also presents the results of a pedagogical experiment on the research topic.
