The analysis of the original and aged in the conditions of stay in the taiga areas of Central Yakutia samples of dishes made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Tests for rupture of samples in longitudinal and transverse directions were carried out. The durability of PET in natural conditions of cold climate is estimated.
The effect of moisture and low temperature, characteristic of the extremely cold climate of Yakutsk, on the mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced plastics for aviation has been studied. It is shown that the effect of low temperature has a positive effect on the strength and fatigue of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. Cycles «moisture saturation-freezing» form damage that reduces its fatigue life of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, especially at large loading amplitudes.
