The article tells about the requirements to materials for non-linguistic students in foreign language teaching. The system of exercises, presented in the article shows how a teacher can develop students’ communicative competence.
The authors define the notion of sociocultural competence and trace the possible ways of its formation during the foreign language lessons. The choice of methods fully depends on the educational aims and cultural surrounding.
The authors define the notion of sociocultural workshops in the process of attaining of the sociocultural component through the foreign language education, define the formed competences and skills. The basic principles of the sociocultural workshops functioning are analyzed.
