The author makes a theoretical analysis aimed at highlighting the prerequisites for the study of the formation of skills of constructive self-assertion in adolescents «at risk». It is concluded that for adolescents «at risk» in conditions of growing self-awareness and the formation of a holistic self-concept, the presence of objective and permanent external threats to the value of self, as well as the destructive influence of the environment (reference groups, destructive families) the problem of self-affirmation takes on particular significance.
