This article is devoted to the differentiated approach to teaching a foreign language. In recent years, this problem has been actualized in connection with the active processes of modernization of Russian education, the transition to a variable system, and the increased autonomy of educational institutions. The article substantiates the need for a differentiated approach and talks about the problems that arise. The author notes the importance of a differentiated approach to achieve the best results in training, offering some forms. In order for educational cooperation to be effective, the author proposes to choose and formulate an educational problem that could be designed to solve through educational cooperation, and also to contain a problem that could cause a collision of points of view and several ways to solve it. In addition to special conditions and the selection of adequate learning tasks, the effectiveness of academic cooperation depends on the position of the teacher, his individual style of management of students' learning activities, on his understanding of his role in the process of organizing joint activities.
