The article deals with topical issues related to the prospects for the development of insurance, the implementation of the "smart insurance" approach as one of the areas of implementation of the concept of creating a financial ecosystem. The authors of the article conducted a study of the essence of "smart insurance" through the analysis of the possibilities of modern technologies, scenarios of their application and current trends in this area.

The article is devoted to discussing digital ecosystems, their advantages, and the prerequisites for their rapid evolution. A description of the essential components of the digital ecosystem is given and the role of the ecosystem's owner (creator) is described. The main financial indicators for the world's largest digital ecosystems are presented as an example. Note is also given to the social risks associated with digital ecosystems.
