The paper analyzes the linguistic means of creating the image of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson by two politically opposite media sources. The analysis of the publications of The Guardian and The Sun showed that the editorial offices form two opposite images of B. Johnson – from the «king of clowns», «a frivolous and worthless politician» to «a charismatic leader», «the most significant prime minister since Margaret Thatcher». The widespread use of linguistic means has made it possible to create both a negative image of the politician and a positive one.
