The article is devoted to the analysis of international legal regulation of environmental relations in the field of prevention of transboundary damage caused to the environment in Finland. The regulation of the procedure for assessing damage affecting the territory of another state and the application of liability in Finland is carried out on the basis of the provisions of international conventions, directives of the European Union, the United Nations and multilateral agreements between the countries of Fennoscandia. The article discusses the objectives, the main categories and principles of environmental policy in the field of environmental impact assessment, prevention and compensation of transboundary environmental damage.
