The article is devoted to the issues of determining the essence of the economic efficiency of the use of agricultural machines, as a component of the production efficiency in general of enterprises in the agrarian business sector. The paper pays attention to indicators of the efficiency of the use of the machine and tractor fleet. Two interconnected parts of the performance indicators for the use of the machine and tractor fleet are determined, which are measured by saving material and labor resources.
