This article examines the current state of the agro-industrial complex and the development of the agricultural insurance market in Russia. The main problems that prevent the establishment and development of an agri-insurance system with state support are singled out. A number of measures have been proposed to improve the practice of agricultural insurance in the Russian Federation.
