The article discusses an educational field trip as one of the effective organizational forms of teaching the Russian language to foreign military. The author illustrates the scenario of the excursion class near the monument to Vasily Chapaev in the square of the Military academy of Signal Corps, on the basis of which the model of the culture of Russian soldier is shown. The purpose of the excursion is to improve the communicative and cultural competence.
