Floods are among the most dangerous natural phenomena caused by a complex combination of climatic factors, threatening the economy, human health, and lives, and damaging infrastructure and environmental sustainability. This has made the development and improvement of flood forecasting methods, cartographic modeling, damage calculations, and the creation of flood risk maps crucial areas for mitigating the risk of natural and man-made emergencies. This paper discusses the problem of assessing the vulnerability of a community to flooding by identifying flood zones using GIS technologies. Data on the impact of rural flooding was obtained from various sources, including the media.
