The article presents theoretical synthesis of the issue of studying the problem caused by the formation of awareness of the grammatical categories of the Russian language by students studying in the direction of «Pedagogical education». This problem is reflected both in the pedagogical and educational sphere, and directly in the sphere of formation of professional competence of a student of a higher educational institute. This theory is the basis for the drawn up and contained in the article exercises and the ways of solving the stated problem.
