In the article such aspects as peculiarities of the motivational sphere of adolescents - students of 8–10 forms; interrelation between effectiveness of the learning process and changes in the hierarchy of the leading motives are viewed. Besides there are some recomendations how to improve the learning process according to the peculiarities of the leading activities, actual motives and social requirements to the students of the secondary school
