The article considers the problem of transformation of the pupil's role in the modern educational process. Based on the principles of the new philosophy of education, the foundations of the subjective approach are analyzed, emphasizing the value of the child's personality, his right to self-realization and self-determination. The key characteristics of the pupil as a subject of interaction are revealed: activity, independence, the ability to reflect, conscious choice of values and goals. Attention is paid to practical models of teacher-pupil interaction to unlock the child's personal potential.
