This article describes the features of working with phraseological units in English lessons. The evidence of significance of phraseology in the development of foreign communicative competence of students is given in this article. Particular attention is paid to the classification of methods for studying phraseological expressions.
This article examines the significance and origin of historical phraseological units and idioms in the English language. The article analyzes several examples of historical phraseological units and explains their origin and use in the context of English history.
The idioms containing the lexemes memory; intellect (Serbian)/mind (Italian) are analysed in the investigation. The aim is to explore the conceptual metaphors associated with these lexemes in their minimal context. The attempt is made here to identify similarities and differences in the conceptualization of the notions named by these words by comparative analysis of idioms where the mentioned lexemes are fixed both in the Serbian and in the Italian linguacultural communities.
