Electronic media is the main tool for broadcasting information and changing public opinion. By the information that received through electronic media, the public forms its opinion about what is happening. Thus, in modern society, the formation of the image and reputation of any region largely depends on the media. Based on this, we consider it necessary to analyze the most popular English language source in order to understand the work done by the Republic to position the region outside the Russian Federation in modern geopolitical situations in the world. The aim of this project is to identify an image of Yakutia, created in the electronic edition of The New York Times. Textual analysis shows that releases about Yakutia are most often associated with the topic about economy. Most of genres about Yakutia are features, we think it's because they are author's releases with regular media topics and mostly on a certain theme.
