The article presents role of language in politics and cooperation between European countries and their former colonies in Africa. It provides the analysis of the language policy influence on the strengthening of relations between countries, as well as the development of the economy and culture. The article shows the results of the online-survey conducted among 35 international students in order to identify an under-standing of the role of language in the politics and cooperation of European countries with the former colo-nies in Africa. The research concludes that it is necessary to increase efforts to develop linguistic interaction between countries in order to achieve a more effective partnership.
