Keyword: «linear low-density polyethylene»
The effect of mild oxidation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the electrophysical properties of composites based on linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) was studied. Oxidation with 30% hydrogen peroxide cleans the MWCNT surface from amorphous carbon, enhances their dispersibility in the polymer matrix, and alters the conductivity type of the nanotubes. As a result, the resistivity of individual MWCNTs increases, the resistivity of MWCNT ensembles rises up to 25 times, and the volume resistivity of the polymer composites increases up to 81 times compared to those containing pristine MWCNTs.
