Тhe article examines and analyzes the state of the modern linguistic and ethnic situation in the sovereign Republic of Kazakhstan.

The rapid development of the modern world globalization changes not only the processes of human life but also reflects on the national languages. This paper describes the theoretical classification of the linguistic situation in the world: traditional, technogenic and globalist; reflects the aspects of the globalization impact on languages; touches upon the issue of creating a single language without which the further spread of globalization would be impossible.
