The materials of the article include the compilation, analysis and structuring of open problems for mathematics lessons, the introduction of the concept of "open" and "closed" problems. The article also presents the results of the experience conducted to assess the effectiveness of a creative approach to solving open problems.
The article reveals the relevance and importance of the local history principle in the process of teaching mathematics on the example of the experience of organizing a Competition of mathematical problems with local history content for students of schools of the Republic of Karelia on the basis of Petrozavodsk State University.
The article reveals the main goals of teaching mathematics, in particular, the formation of mathematical thinking by teaching students to solve problems with practical content, the formation of skills in constructing mathematical models of simple phenomena of reality. Sufficient attention is paid to the study of the requirements for the models that are specified and the creation of model applications, as well as the involvement of schoolchildren in creative activities.
