This article is devoted to the study of metaphors in pop culture. Metaphors have long attracted the attention of linguists. The metaphor is widely used and studied in scientific literature as a linguistic unit, but as a unit of metaphorical spoken language it is little studied. The appeal of various sciences to the problem of metaphors shows the complexity of the nature of this phenomenon. The distinction between language metaphor and speech metaphor is emphasized. Different approaches to the study of metaphors illustrate the diversity and complexity of their analysis in linguistics. The metaphor, working in the form of a dialogue in English, is divided into productive thematic groups. The specific language material shows the variety of functions of the spoken metaphor.
