The article is devoted to the assessment of current trends in the spread of migration sentiments and the formation of migration motivation of Russians. The results of the secondary analysis of the data of the All-Russian sociological research and the data of the author's research in the region are presented. The conclusion is made about the weakly expressed migration sentiments in the country, despite the predominantly economic motivational basis of migration and the dissatis-faction of a significant part of the population with the current level of their wealth.
