The article examines the main directions of the development of military education, indicates the reasons that affect the development of education. The basic competencies in educational activities that are acceptable for a military flight school are given. It shows what new educational technologies have led to and what needs to be done to return to a normal military education system.

The importance of training future officers is not in doubt in any state, but the approach to training varies from state to state. The system of training professional military personnel is largely determined by the country's culture and established military traditions. The article analyzes the educational systems for training personnel for the Air Force in two countries – India and Pakistan. These two States were chosen because they have a common border, firstly, and secondly, because of the ongoing conflict over the territory of Kashmir. Both states are forced to maintain units in the border area in a state of combat readiness, including the Air Force. The Air Force in both countries is considered an elite force, which is prestigious to serve in.
